R Entranceway to the Central Temple. Beginning here, the curious public is turned away by gracious priests and acolytes, or, failing that, by burly guards.

S Guard Room. Contains 3 Guards (MR 30), who will arrive at the Hypostyle Hall #W, Entranceway #R, or Sanctuary #A within 1 turn if a fight breaks out.

W Hypostyle Hall. Decorative. Passages lead west toward the central sanctuary, and to the sides (north and south) into prayer rooms (:A':, :Z:, :Y:, and :B':). A small door to the northwest W-U leads to the sewer grate #1 and the laundry rooms #P-Q, but is locked and has a guard posted in front of it.

Pavillion

Before you stands the statue of the goddess Yendor, patron of Summershore. A series of freestanding pillars lines the perimeter of the pavillion, with the statue in its center. The statue is human-sized, about 6 feet tall, draped in an expensive saffron-colored robe. It faces East and holds its arms outstretched in a gesture of welcome and benevolent protection, as if to welcome the sunrise. And around its neck you see what you are after: a golden amulet engraved with decorative runes.

Trap: If characters attempt to touch the statue without investigating it first, they will suffer an electric shock which does 3d6 damage. An inspection of the pillars will reveal a switch that will shut the protective field off.
