Ingredients:

1 lb dried spaghetti

2 Tb olive oil

5 beef hot dogs, cut crosswise on a slight diagonal into 1/4-inch-thick pieces

4 cloves garlic, minced

1 medium onion, finely chopped

1 lb ground beef
-
3 bay leaves
-
3/4 tsp salt
-
1/4 tsp black pepper
-
2 Tb tomato paste
-
28 oz tomato sauce
-
1 cup water
-
1/4 cup ketchup
-
2 Tb soy sauce
-
1 Tb fish sauce
-
1 1/2 tsp sugar
-
shredded cheddar to top
Instructions:

Heat 1 Tb of oil, fry hot dog slices until browned. Remove from pan and set
aside.

Add 1 Tb oil, add garlic and cook 30 sec. Add onion and cook until soft.

Add ground beef, bay leaves, salt, and pepper. Brown thoroughly.

Add tomato paste and cook 1 min, stirring frequently. Add hot dogs, tomato
sauce, water, ketchup, soy sauce, fish sauce, and sugar. Simmer 10 min.

Cook spaghetti until al dente (1 min less than box instructions. Reserve
1/2 to 1 cup of the cooking water and add it to the sauce. Combine sauce and
noodles. Serve with shredded cheese on top.
